Making Noise: An Arts and Activism Fair is a festival-style event run by the Women’s Centre in collaboration with the Waterloo Chapter of the Miss G__ Project (www.themissgproject.org). This event will be held on November 16th, 2008 at Maxwell’s Music House (located on King Street, right across from the school).
Our vision is to raise awareness by having real discussions surrounding the issue of gendered violence, expressed through many different forms of artistic expression. The performance aspect of this festival will alternate between performances by musical and spoken word artists, and frontline stories from educators, shelter volunteers, social workers and other volunteers who see the results of gendered violence first-hand.
