Take Back the Night

Every year, the Women’s Centre participates in Kitchener-Waterloo’s annual Take Back the Night March, a nighttime walk which demands that women have the ability to walk past dark without fear. Women march as a symbol of our basic human right to be where we want, how we want; alone or with another, without the protection of men, and without violence.

If you are woman-identified and would like to walk with us, meet us on September 24th at 5:30pm in the Quad in front of the Fred Nichols Campus Centre. We’ll have signs that you can carry, and a big group of people to walk with!

What to bring:

- A water bottle. They’ll fill it up when you get there!

- If you’d like to make your own signs, feel free to bring them! Get creative! We also encourage you to bring whistles, tambourines, and other such noisemakers.

- Comfortable shoes. We’ll be walking from Brewmeister Green (uptown Waterloo, at King and William) to Kitchener City Hall.

If you are man-identified and would like to show your support for the women participating in this event, we would invite you to join us at Kitchener City Hall after the march!
