Macintosh Network Setup Instructions |

Most new Macintosh Laptops and Desktop computers have built in network support the images below show possible Ethernet jack locations.

1. To verify that you have the right system requirements, click on the
apple menu and choose About this Computer.
This will bring up the following window:
2. You are now able to see whether or not you are using MacOS7.6.1 or higher. Check which version you have and close this window. If you have MacOS7.6.1 or higher, go on to Setup TCP/IP, other wise read on.
3. Now you need to check if Open Transport is already installed. Click on theapple menu and choose Control Panels. Then find the TCP/IP listing and click on it. If you cannot find TCP/IP, you will need to obtain Open Transport before you can continue. The following window should pop up:
4. Now click on the Info button at the bottom. If you don’t have the info button, hold down theapple key and press "I" for info.
5. Verify that Open Transport is on your machine.
In order to use Open Transport, you must have MacOS 7.5.5. Users who do not have this must upgrade their Operating Systems. We do recommend that all users upgrade to 8.6 if possible. The minimum MacOS that we support is 7.6.1.
If you are using MacOS7.6.1 or higher and already have a web browser installed on your computer, you can follow the steps listed below to set up your computer to access the Internet.
1. Go to the
apple menu and choose Control Panels -> TCP/IP.
2. Select Connect Via: Ethernet and Configure using DHCP Server.
3. Goto Edit -> User Mode and select Advanced.4. Click OK.
5. Close the TCP/IP Control P and save your changes. You should now be able to browse the Internet.
Find Internet Explorer or Netscape on your computer, double-click it. You should now be able to connect to the Internet.
