What is In(nova)tion? |
|
What is in a name? For the In(nova)tion RLC, the name acknowledges the experience students have in the community. First, a nova is an exploding star in a far away galaxy that emits a burst of light and energy. Much the same can be said for all students who live in the RLC. The support and encouragement residents of the In(nova)tion RLC receive often results in an explosion of ideas and creativity. The byproduct of each student’s creative outburst is innovation, whether small or large. The team of faculty, staff and senior students supporting the RLC help nurture the innovative pursuits of residents, hopefully leading to a transformative experience that lasts long past first year. This community is designed to expose first year students from every discipline to the ever-changing world of entrepreneurship. This collaborative community is for students who wish to live, grow and learn with peers who are creative, innovative and passionate about entrepreneurship. The In(nova)tion RLC will provide students with the opportunity to enhance their social and intellectual growth through creative programming tailored to providing them with the diverse skills, knowledge, network and tools to be successful entrepreneurs. Students will have access to a network of alumni, one of the country’s leading start-up company hubs, the WLU Schlegel Centre for Entrepreneurship, and much more. |
