Who's Who in Your Residence Community? |
|
Moving into a new community and beginning a new way of life can be a challenge. Laurier’s residence program has been set up to make that transition as smooth as possible. The Department of Residential Services includes the Director of Residence, the Associate Director, Residence & Learning, the Manager, Residence Facility Operations, the Residence Life Area Coordinators, and the Residential Services Office Staff. The department is located in the lower level of King Street Residence. Dons and Community Advisors manage the day-to-day implementation of our Residence Life program.

The six R.L.A.C.’s facilitate the day-to-day management of the buildings, work to maintain Laurier’s standards of community living, provide individual counselling, and train and supervise the Residence Life staff. Community Advisors are senior students who are hired as members of the Residence Life team with specific responsibilities in the areas of building programming through House Councils. Community Advisors are responsible for overseeing House Council recruitment and for providing development and training programs for student leaders in residence. Community Advisors are also assigned a residence community with donning responsibilities.
