Residence Application Procedures for Senior Students |

Definition:
Senior Student: Any upper-year student enrolled in an undergraduate program other than a first-year student. Senior students also include any transfer students who are given any advance standing in any undergraduate program of study.
Senior students in residence are subject to all of the same terms and conditions as all residence students, and will be required to sign the same residence contract. Senior students will receive the same residence life program that is offered throughout the WLU residence system, and are expected to be contributing members of the community.
For the academic year September 2012 to April 2013, residence accommodations are available primarily for senior students who have documented special needs and require special consideration, and who are registered with the Accessible Learning Centre. Appropriate documentation should be included with the application. Other senior students may be accommodated if space becomes available after June 1, 2012. These applications will be held in the Residential Services Office, and residence deposits will be refunded in the event that the applicant cannot be accommodated, or if written cancellation is received no later than 11:59 p.m. on June 1, 2012.
Online Application forms will be available from the Residential Services website in late March. All applications must be accompanied by a non-refundable deposit of $400. Additional information is available by contacting the Residential Services Office (Ext. 3236), located in King Street Residence.
Building and room assignments are completed together with the first-year students in June, and notification will be sent from the Residential Services Office in the latter part of July 2012.
Senior students are expected to move into residence during the week following Labour Day, Monday September 3, 2012.
Important Dates and Deadlines for Senior Students
Late March 2012 - Online Residence Application forms are available from the Residential Services website.
Monday April 30, 2012 - Completed "Residence Application for Senior Students" must be received in the Residential Services Office no later than 4:30 p.m. (together with required $400 deposit).
Friday June 1, 2012 - Written cancellation of any residence application must be received by 11:59 p.m. in the Residential Services Office to qualify for a refund of the residence deposit. After this date, residence deposits will only be refunded in the event that the applicant cannot be accommodated.
Friday August 3, 2012 - By this date you will receive notification of residence building and room assignment.
Week following Labour Day, Monday September 3, 2012 - Senior students may move into residence.
Friday September 7, 2012 - Last day for senior students to move into residence. After this date, your residence space will be cancelled, and may be re-assigned to another student.
