Residence Application Procedures for First-Year Undergraduate Students |
|
Generally speaking, most first-year undergraduate students will be offered admission to WLU any time between January 2 and mid May for the academic term beginning in September 2013. With the offer of admission, all students will receive information regarding living in a University residence and how to apply for a room in residence. Students will be directed to the Residential Services website to complete a residence application. Residence applications must be completed and submitted online. All applications MUST be accompanied by a $400 non-refundable deposit.
Note: At this time, it is anticipated that the online residence application system will be available in mid March 2013.
All first-year undergraduate students who are offered admission to Wilfrid Laurier University for the academic year beginning in September 2013 must submit their completed First-Year Student Residence Application to the Residence Office (together with the required $400 non-refundable deposit) no later than 11:59 p.m., Monday June 3, 2013 to be guaranteed a place in residence.
|
Note: Students transferring to Laurier from another post-secondary institution are considered senior students (with the exception of those students coming from CEGEP), and are not eligible for the residence guarantee. |
Students with a midterm admission average of 90% or higher are guaranteed their choice of building style (apartment or dormitory) and room type (single or double), space permitting. Please note that this offer applies to midterm (May) admission averages only as residence assignments are completed prior to the receipt of all final grades. To be eligible, you must submit your residence application, together with the non-refundable $400 residence deposit by the deadline, 11:59 p.m. on Monday June 3, 2013.
After all applications have been processed and carefully reviewed, applicants are assigned to various residence buildings according to their stated preferences (as indicated on the application form) and the availability of space in each residence. Letters indicating building and room assignments will be e-mailed from WLU in the latter part of July 2013.
All first-year undergraduate residence students are expected to move into residence on either Sunday September 1st or Monday September 2nd depending upon which residence they have been assigned.
*This applies to students attending either Laurier Waterloo campus or Laurier Brantford campus.
