Past Alternative Reading Week Experiences |
|
Laurier’s Alternative Reading Week program has existed since 2006, and has evolved significantly over the years. Previous ARW experiences have included working at a school for children with special needs in Oaxaca, Mexico; repairing hurricane devastated homes in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana and addressing various social justice issues in Costa Rica including: repairing a community centre, teaching English, interacting with elders who have been neglected or abused, providing food to the homeless, and participating in environmental sustainability projects.
