Every February, Laurier’s Alternative Reading Week (ARW) program provides students with a fun, meaningful and educationally-purposeful experience that combines travel, learning and serving others. ARW brings together students who are looking for a unique alternative to reading week on the beach - although sometimes we find ourselves on the beach, but not for reasons you might typically imagine! Designed to enhance students’ experiences with global citizenship, diversity, leadership and self-awareness, the ARW program includes a rich combination of pre-trip learning sessions, a week of service in an international community and a post-trip celebration.
