If you are having trouble coping with stress, are feeling distracted by personal or emotional problems, or simply need to talk, please feel free to make an appointment with an intake counsellor by calling 519-884-0710 x2338. In the intake appointment, your concerns will be reviewed and you will be informed of the supports available to you, both in Counselling Services and in the community.
At times of peak demand there may be a longer than desired delay between the time you meet with the intake counsellor and your ongoing counsellor. Every attempt is made to prioritize access according to need, and a time-limited treatment model is utilized in order to provide the opportunity for counselling to the maximum number of students.
Crisis appointments are also available daily by appointment. If in crisis, it is best to call the office to ensure a crisis spot is still available, or to learn of other crisis services if all available crisis counsellors are booked. After hours or for life-threatening situations, contact University Special Constables (x3333) or 911.
Our services are free of charge for all Laurier students. However, students who miss or cancel an appointment without providing 24 hours notice may be charged a $20 fee payable before booking their next appointment (exceptions may be made for cases of the flu, illness, etc.).
