Transition 101 Program for 1st Year Students

Transition 101 offers full- and half-day workshops for incoming first-year students with disabilities to orient them to the staff, supports and services available through the Accessible Learning Centre (ALC).  Offered in conjunction with the campus-wide Headstart program, it acquaints participants with the Centre and its services, and will ultimately allow them to start term with their approved accommodation plan as well as a knowledge of the Centre processes. A parent information session takes place concurrently with the student programming, to address questions and concerns of parents involved in their students’ transition to post-secondary education.

Transition 101 dates for 2012:

Half-days, in conjunction with Headstart: Tuesday, June 19; Wednesday, June 20; Wednesday, July 4; Thursday, July 5; Friday, July 6; and Friday, July 13. Go to www.wlu.ca/headstart  to register.

Full-day sessions: Thursday,  August 23 and Friday, August 24. Please contact Accessible_Learning@wlu.ca to register for either of these sessions.
