Why we exist

A question that has been asked by many, is why does a group for a certain demographic exist in a multicultural society? Well we believe that ABS is not exclusively in existence for students of colour but for all those that acknowledge the circumstances of inequalities in our world. More importantly to be a platform for students to discuss and devise ways to overcome the challenges that may arise due to these injustices. We offer a large support system and make active efforts to connect junior students with their senior counterparts to establish a mentor relationship. ABS continues played an active role in the community outside of Laurier. This is because we recognize the privilege of being in an academic institution and believe it is important to share the knowledge and experience we acquire with others that may not have the opportunities we do.
