Have a Heart for First Nations Children

Posted: February 07, 2012       By: Melissa Ireland

Have a Heart for First Nations Children is a campaign meant to give First Nations children the chance to grow up safely at home, get a good education, be healthy, and be proud of their culture. This campaign will be running from Tuesday, February 7 until Tuesday, February 14th.

There will be events all week, including a screening of the Movie "Shannen's Dream" Tuesday, February 7th at 2pm at the Aboriginal Student Centre.

There will also be a table set up in the concourse this Thursday and Friday, February 9th and 10th, from 10 am till 2 pm, and anyone has the oppurtunity to sign a pre-written letter to the local MP urging for change to give First Nations Children the same opportunities as other Canadians.

If you can’t make it out for those days, you can stop by the Aboriginal Student Centre between Feb. 7th and Feb.14th and sign a letter as well, or submit your own hand written letter to the local MP. All letters are due by 3 pm on Tuesday, February 14.

If you would like more information about this campaign, or to print off your own letter please click here

Please have a heart, and help First Nations Children by signing a letter today!
