Laurier Reads Boyden

 Joseph Boyden, Giller Award-winning author of Through Black Spruce and Three Day Road, will be Laurier’s Writer-in-Residence for three days from March 6 to March 8, 2012.

“Laurier Reads Boyden” is a university-wide group whose members are reading Through Black Spruce. Members of this reading group will have a special discussion session with Boyden during his visit to Laurier, on the afternoon of March 7. Membership in the group is open to all students from all faculties studying at all levels, faculty members, instructors, staff, and other members of the Laurier community.

The group will meet for three Mondays to discuss Through Black Spruce in the Paul Martin Centre from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. on the following dates, with the following topics:

January 30: storytelling and Ojibwe culture
February 13: history and community
February 27: gender and family
