Laurier's Aboriginal Education Council

The Aboriginal Education Council is an advisory body to the President and Vice-Chancellor of Wilfrid Laurier University, and the senior management team. The council assists Laurier in meeting its Values, Vision, Mission and Guiding Principles as it pertains to our interactions with, and inclusiveness of Aboriginal peoples. The Laurier Aboriginal Education Council (AEC) has been created to promote a positive educational experience and success of Aboriginal students at Laurier. The AEC is committed to developing and supporting Aboriginal educational aspirations through curriculum, programs, services, and research at Laurier that meets the needs of both the Aboriginal and non-aboriginal students, faculty and staff at Laurier. The AEC will assist and advise Laurier in identifying and articulating priorities for programs and services intended to increase the successful recruitment, retention and graduation of Aboriginal students.

This is a great opportunity to get involved in the Laurier community and have a positive impact on the university. We are looking for an Aboriginal Student rep who is:

a current and registered undergrad student (year 2 or above preferred)
a self-identified Aboriginal Student
a member of the ASA
